Due to the weights in the hands, it’s actually able to “cling” onto some things
One of the few times I’ve made a prototype of my plush before making the real deal. It was made out of fleece instead of minky.
Lugia
The Lugia plush was made to be “huggable”- the wingspan was meant to be long enough to wrap around someone’s body. When making the Lugia, I made sure its wingspan would be large enough to wrap around my own body, which resulted in the final plush being over 4ft long, from the top of its head to the tip of its tail. Despite its massive size, it only took about 7hrs total to sew
Large size for holding, carrying, etc.

Screenshot from Blender of the seams laid out on a model from Pokemon X/Y. I had to manually remove some detail, like on the toes and back spines, to make the pattern more simple.
